To Write You a Poem

Ever since we'd gotten together, I'd always wanted to write a poem about us. I finally did. :3

I wanted to write you a poem

A poem about us

One that captures my emotions perfectly

Emotions that well up at the sight of you

Emotions that warm me up from the inside out

I wanted to write you a poem

A poem about us

One that portrays my feelings accurately

Feelings that consume me at the thought of you

Feelings I wouldn't want to suppress

I wanted to write you a poem

A poem inspired by you

But I can't even begin to choose from

The hundreds of memories I have of you

Or the thousands of words you've said to me

I guess now I've written my poem

A poem that was supposed to be about us

But I've changed it around

This is what it is now

And I guess that it perfectly fits.

Great use of repetition and flow - on e tiny question, and maybe it is just me, but I would think "I guess that it perfectly fits" might be a little cleaner at the end.
