Warm Love In an Empty Heart

 

Love is so warm

It seeps into your soul

Protects you from harm

Keeps you from depression

Keeps you from alarm

 

A companion is a great gain

Keeps you safe

Protects you from pain

Lifts you up

Shields you from rain

 

Affection can mean so much

A warm smile

A simple touch

Somebody to lean on

Instead of a crutch

 

A humble introduction

Leads to a blossom

We begin an induction

Into love

Which leads to an eruption

 

A whispered way to greet

A word

So soft, so sweet

An indulgence

A splendid treat

 

I do not want any diamond rings

I do not want money

All I want is to sing

Of my love

And the happiness it brings

 

But there is no one to hold

No one to have

I sit and grow old

And wait for someone to take the things from me

Of which I have just told

 

 

My feelings so strong

Yet I know not whom about

Tell me, is it wrong

For these feelings to exist

With nowhere to belong?

 

This is important, I must impart,

For I am all alone

This war inside is tearing me apart

So warm my love,

Yet so empty my heart
