If only

If only

A Poem by Twistedwords

Good morning, good night
As I see the sun and you see the moonlight
I listened to a voice so familiar, so comforting
Like a book you read on a rainy day,
A smile, a laugh, that can take worries away
"If only", he whispered
Like the faint smell of spring, his words lingered
Through the phone, you can hear our yearning
With each word, we're slowly learning
That maybe this world just isn't ready
For a love so great
A love that knows no time,
A love that knows no place.

Longing is so clear here. Distance between us has become both very small and yet still so far in this world.
