Mind & Body

Mind & Body

A Poem by James K. Blaylock

Mind & Body

now, my

mind wants,

to leave

this body...

but sadly,

I fear

I'll never

return again

This makes me feel sad...like death has grabbed someone, they are not well and they know their time is up. Uncertainty in when one will die is one of the worst and best things...
I also like the fact that you wrote that the mind is still intact- their though processes are working...it's their body which fails them. In Cafs studies at my school, we learnt about all the disabilities and how people can be trapped in their bodies, even though their mind is working...one of the worst agonies!

A wonderful, deep write!

Your body's ruled by gravity
but your mind is free
to come and go just as you please.
You can travel anywhere with ease
Your body waits for your return
with knowledge that you earn
Which you can turn to poetry
It will be waiting patiently
I see no reason for your fear
Your body will not disappear
