In The Flesh

In The Flesh

A Poem by James K. Blaylock

In The Flesh

covered with a billion tears,

that came long before us,

the earth knows their names,

as we've surely forgotten...

but one day, we'll all be together,

under the same soil, at least in flesh

James, another brilliant write. I'll never figure out how you say so much with so few words. But you do.
Yes the earth knows every person that has trod upon it, for they have returned or will return to the very thing they (we) are made of. and one day we'll all be together for death is our destiny in the end.
Splendid write my friend. Splendid.
Another for my fav's

The last two lines are the bestest! Great poem. Gives a brief mental picture, and it's an interesting one. Fantastic piece!

I've looked (not reviewed) at some of your other writes, and they all seem to be set up in this format. There's nothing wrong with that, but maybe you should expand your writing. Grow variety, instead of growing in one aspect.
But as for the review of this poem, the end tied things all together nicely.
It was kind of like, "If you don't understand the poem, read this final line and you'll understand it all"
Which makes it easy on the reader to see what you mean.
Thanks for sharing.

This is a exceptional two lines:

covered with a billion tears,
that came long before us,

These words just grab you, a billion tear, that came before. Wow!!

as usual masterful work.
