Yes Its Gone

Yes Its Gone

A Poem by lilfriend
"

Memories of Childhood

"
It's Gone , Yes it's Gone

It's gone , yes it's gone
The old days of joy
Grandparents to annoy

It's gone , yes it's gone
Making paper planes
And boats for rains

It's gone , yes it's gone
Playing with friends, in the park
Hide and seek till it was dark

It's gone , yes it's gone
Going to shops, buying new stuff
Rejoicing for days, as that was enough

It's gone , yes it's gone
Playing, fighting and singing with siblings
Laughing, crying, wrestling and tickling

It's gone , yes it's gone
getting hurt when playing and crying for long
Comforted by mother and her soothing song

It's gone , yes it's gone
Now I am left with only some money
Feeling alone in people's company

It's gone , yes it's gone
No one is listening and no one to talk
Empty roads and long sad walk

It's gone , yes it's gone
Surrounded by, the unknown fears
Overthinking, before shedding some tears

 It's gone , yes it's gone
Watching this life, passing by
Unaffected by the rains and sunny sky

It's gone , yes it's gone
Nights are restless, days are long
Losing control, it all seems wrong

It's gone , yes it's gone
All I want for today and tomorrow
Little joy of childhood from somewhere to borrow

What we sometimes leave behind in exchange for financial security is what we were trying to earn more money for - the ones close to us and our relationships with them. We get so busy 'adulting' that a quest for a second childhood would surely follow. Thanks for sharing.

Hi I re read this it came up again
Still love it 😍
Good morning,
First read of yours and I did enjoy it very much. As they say life is wasted on the youth... however, as we grow older we have memories and that is so wonderful. Hopefully we remember the good things and not too much of the bad...
I do not know if you want any true comments about your writing? If not then just ignore what I am about to write.
Some of your rhymes are great while others are not... for example long and wrong are great
tomorrow and borrow are great
but talk and walks doesn't work because of the s..
money and company sounds sort of the same but are not..another one is hours and fathers ...that does not work.
I say this because your poem is so good and could use a little adjusting..
BUT, as I say...ignore what I say if you feel your poem is correct..I am only trying to help.

All the wonderful moments of youth we took for granted as we lived them. You captured in this poignant heartfelt piece of nostalgia. This is a nice little gift of a poem to read and remind us how fleeting these precious moments in life truly are. Thank you for sharing your poem with us.
