Charles's House

Charles's House

A Poem by Laura Ex

Don't believe what they said is true
No one will believe in you
Give respect where respect is due
Sometimes there's nothing we can do
All the while I need time to rehearse
Showing up to make the crowd disperse
I saw you there and didn't say
A single thing I thought that day
When all the thoughts revolved around
Your very being, please surround
And submerge my pain in everything
And give me what this high can bring
Only up to get down again
