Just Wishes

Just Wishes

A Poem by Laura Ex

I get my expectations up

That for just a moment there’d be time

When you’d remember you are mine

And I am yours

But I guess that I was wrong

And I’m singing the same song

Wishing you could somehow miss me

But I never understood

Why I spend so much time alone

And you are always home

With someone else

Disappointment’s coursing through

And my final speech is due

I’m giving it to you

And there’s nothing left to do

            You don’t miss me

            But you wish you did

            And I wish you could

            But that’s all they are

            Just wishes.

Without wishes and dreams. We would be heartless. A excellent poem. Description and your story was very good. Ending was very good.
