My Blood

My Blood

A Poem by Laura Ex

My blood flows red

My blood flows strong

My blood paints a story

Of all the things that went wrong

My blood forms drops

The blood from my vein

My scars are a timeline

Of a lifetime of pain

My blood is warm

As it drips on the floor

My blood is the substance

And I always need more

My blood is the drug

That controls my life

My blood is a reason

That I pick up this knife

My blood just stains

The frame of my bed

My blood is an image

That won’t leave my head

My blood is the tears

That my eyes cannot cry

My blood reminds me

That soon I will die
