My Poetry

A Poem by unspokenpain
"

poetry speaks

"
My words have changed.
You don't have to say it.
I noticed it too.

Should I have kept them the same?
What form should I go with!
What should I do...

I was so simple at first.
Every line spoke volumes.
I painted and created.

Should I call this new form my worst?
What will speak out to you!
Has my name faded...

My pen was golden.
My paper always shined.
I guess I should tell you.

Should I speak of my secret?
Want to know the meaning behind each line?
Well... here's the truth.

Because I like them.
That's it.

It's astonishing as to how powerful a few simple lines can be to the world, or just to someone in general. Poetry is such a simple, yet powerful tool that can change us for the better (it certainly has done its wonders for me). It shouldn't matter how you write...we each have our own styles & personal voice, our own stories to tell. It's okay to hold secrets within your writing, but it's also important to stay true to who you are. Every writer has their bad days...where we feel our writing is just garbage & that we should throw it away, when it's just something to build upon. There's always room for improvement. If you don't like what you've written, just set it down & return to it later, then possibly you'll have some new ideas to help expand it. Write however you want, don't change yourself for anyone.

Gee
And that is how it should be. To many on here seem to write what they think others are wanting, and that ain't the way to go as it comes across, more often than not, forced and not to enjoyable. I like this, thus you as a writer.

Poetry speaks when my words can't. Watch me dance with words. Watch me create a world. I will undress who you are. Realize the masochist inside of you as my dominating words grasp that which lets you .. more..
