i found these on my pc today.
i don't know if i've already posted them, but i liked them.
it's always good to get them a read.

i'm tracing ashes of the past
they dance in circles on the blackened floor
a glance to the embers speaks to me
how could i ever dream to ask for more

the nights we lay together, under the stars
a steadfast friend at my side
though your warmth has only grown closer
i wonder what rules i did not abide

calling outside, the wind can't believe
how i've let this all trap me, trap you
i'm holding you behind these lines
don't regret this when we're through

my jealousies pulled you closer than you meant to be
i'm holding you behind these lines
do not get close, that close to me
how can you believe what i say, when i don't?
i won't leave this, now that we're finally here.
it was what i'd always dreamt of, but was this
the colour that was meant to enter the world
when ender saved the world, he gave up everything
would i give up this world, you, to save you?
