I've been trying to forget
You, God help me. Trying
Hard not to live the life
You wrote for me when
I was ten years old. And no
Matter where I run,
No matter how fast, how
Tired I get, I can't
Shake the feeling that
I'll never be rid of your
Shadow. I remember you
Trying to make it work.
I remember a thousand
Days of nothing but
Trying to make it work.
Those words are weighted.
Remembered and written
With a sigh. I was never very
Good at trying to make it work.

Definitely a sad poem, What really matters is at least you tried, that has to count for something.
