The End

The End

A Poem by Vanessa Pavelock

Here I am at the end

of the Island, sitting

with my feet dangling

over forbidden bluffs.

I look ahead to see that

there is nowhere else

to go from here--no

dirt path or signs.

Yet below I hear reckless

waves meet a rocky shore,

and a sailor whispers,

“Welcome home.”

A thought provoking read. Is it a consideration of suicide or a call to return to the sea? The way the lines are broken strongly suggest the former but the fact that it is ambigious gives it more power. A strong tight write.

It is indeed meant to be ambiguous. Glad you enjoyed it!
hmm I like how it flows...I'm not really sure exactly what it's about. Like if it's a sailor welcoming someone home or they feel at home while looking at the waves...or they are talking to the waves xD meh I might not be to good at deciphering this one lol

Good Job
