What if Walls Could Talk?

What if Walls Could Talk?

A Poem by Kasaundra
"

What is walls could talk? What secrets do you think they would tell if they spoke them to you?

"

What if walls could talk?

What stories would they tell you?

What about the secrets they’ve seen?

Your son, Jacob, nineteen now,

the walls have seen him grow

to the young man he is today.

What about your husband?

When you were on that business trip?

Well, he had an affair with that bimbo from next door.

How about Janelle, your only little girl?

She’s just had her first kiss tonight

right on your front porch.

What about your mother during her final months?

You remember when you knew her time was near

as Alzheimer’s quickly took over.

Your brother, Jack, way before you were born

stacking his wooden blocks into a wobbly tower.

Stacking them up so high until they all collapsed down

How about that teenage boy who hides in the closet?

He’s covering up his homosexuality

so mom and dad won’t know.

If only walls could talk.

Imagine what they could tell you.

They hold a world of stories untold.

What parts do you think need some work? I wrote this in about an hour or so late at night (well past my bedtime) so lay it on me, what needs work?
