Stand Up Taller

Stand Up Taller

A Poem by veracity
"

A 2-part poem that begins as an analysis of personal motivations and then more broadly about the pressuring "motivations" of society as we know it.

"

You stop growing when you die,
Your skin, your bark, your hide.
The people on whom you rely,
Who are always by your side.

Owe my cries I do to,
Sowers of misery's seeds,
Inspiration to good deeds,
Ones I truly know.

Sights are deceiving,
Try it at least twice,
Seeing is believing,
What is sugar and what is spice?

----

What of everything nice?

Such a decision would not suffice,
A collision, with Society's blueprint.
Take the breaks when they come,

This disgusting capital slum,
Up eye-pyramid, to Mordor, for four more?
Keep it under lid, your a smart kid,
Beat your peers, you'll have no financial fears.

When did trade become life?
Unemployment should not be strife
Having a job is so vital?
Perhaps, but only for survival,

In a twisted game to crush reprisal.
Many things have evolved,
But not much has been resolved,
Why ask me where I'm from?

Pink! Look, the color of my gums!
All this is silly, what! You have guns?
Really? So it's okay for nuns?
Thanks for the tip I guess?

Too much s**t to address,
Mail it to all the blogs,
Let's drop a nail into the cogs.
Enough trough for these hogs!
