Hold my hand

Hold my hand

A Poem by Vidya Bacchus
"

Being there for the one you love and expecting the same from them

"

         Hold my hand

When you feel lost,

Adrift on a tumultuous ocean,

I will be your lighthouse,

My love a beacon,

To deliver you to calmer tides.

When life knocks you down,

With a gleeful roar,

I will help you up,

Even as I understand,

That this battle is yours.

But I ask of you,

Be there for me too,

Because I buried my demons,

In a shallow grave,

And I am always afraid they will claw their way out.

Bear with my idiosyncrasies,

Because they are mine,

Hold my hand lest I fall into the void,

And believe,

That I will do the same for you.

I would slay your dragons,

Even as my own has me cowering in fear,

So understand me when even I don't understand me,

On days when I curse my breathing,

Remind me to take a breath if not for me ,at least for you.

A promising poem of love with sincerity of an angel and I can feel there is a call for redemption as well.
Creates a perfect scenario for taking a walk with your loved one at the sunset and whispering these words or just let the evening breeze do the job.

This was a very awesome write :)))))))))))))) Yesterday I have a dear friend hold my hand, She was with me in spirit as I went before what I call the dragons breath, No flames could I feel in the burnings to be, Not shadow casted in the treating as it was a disease, I never let go nor did she, fore I knew God was their in my company. It goes to show in your poem some one is their maybe it be in person maybe in be in spirit but some one is always their. This made me smile very much because to me and a dear best friend a blessing was seen, God has a funny way of showing us a blessing as a gift. Vidya you gave that gift and didn't know a thing about it:))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

............:D
Such a gift to be a champion for another born from love. It's a beautiful poem filled with the sentiment of love and the need to protect those we love despite any cost to ourselves. This is simply gorgeous.

"I would slay your dragons,

She deserves to be loved the way she loves.
She deserves a brave soul to give everything for her,
because she is willing to give everything for him too.
The end is painful "at least for you."
Lovely, warm and painful at the same time... it touched my heart.

My pleasure.
I love love love the third stanza. Is that because I am peeling onions, or am I tearing up? Still wonder about the space apostrophe thing, instead of apostrophe space, but I can live with it.:)

Unconditional love, so hard to come by.

But I ask of you,
Be there for me too,
Because I buried my demons,
In a shallow grave,
And I am always afraid they will claw their way out.

Felt that stanza down to my toes....

You know that song, I get knocked down....

Thank you Noodle . One of the nicest reviews I have gotten:)
OUCH !

Does this hit a spot, with exact timing...... Hmmm esp. this

"When life knocks you down,
With a gleeful roar,
I will help you up,
Even as I understand,
That this battle is yours."
Because I am telling that friend"

I cannot lead them from their dark thoughts. It is their choice to allow those thoughts or Demand them to go.

Hmm There must be a level ground in between..... I hope so.

Bear with my idiosyncrasies,
Because they are mine,

And for no other reason alone. Love me not in spite of my faults but because they as much what defines me.
