Hold my hand

Hold my hand

A Poem by Vidya Bacchus
"

Being there for the one you love and expecting the same from them

"

         Hold my hand

When you feel lost,

Adrift on a tumultuous ocean,

I will be your lighthouse,

My love a beacon,

To deliver you to calmer tides.

When life knocks you down,

With a gleeful roar,

I will help you up,

Even as I understand,

That this battle is yours.

But I ask of you,

Be there for me too,

Because I buried my demons,

In a shallow grave,

And I am always afraid they will claw their way out.

Bear with my idiosyncrasies,

Because they are mine,

Hold my hand lest I fall into the void,

And believe,

That I will do the same for you.

I would slay your dragons,

Even as my own has me cowering in fear,

So understand me when even I don't understand me,

On days when I curse my breathing,

Remind me to take a breath if not for me ,at least for you.

A promising poem of love with sincerity of an angel and I can feel there is a call for redemption as well.
Creates a perfect scenario for taking a walk with your loved one at the sunset and whispering these words or just let the evening breeze do the job.

Thank you Shaquana :)
A fine poem of togetherness; that's what it's all about, is it not? Or so I've been told!

People tell you things mikey lol? Thank you :)
I can almost see myself reciting this poem to my best friend. Reminds me of time I wiped his tears, brought him back from depression and then, when my insecurities made me insane, he made me cry to let the pain out. When for the first and last time i thought like a suicidal he got me back to life. And the best part is that this piece reminds of these things as they occured, vividly like a movie. One can relate to it in one or the other way. Thanks for sharing. Hats off!

I will stand and protect you from your demons.
I will hold your hand and keep you from the edge of your void.
We would stand together and face our fears together.

Welcome :P
Love is a two way street as well as friendship. So many expectations arise and pains along with sufferings which is normal and comes with the territory so to speak. Voices want to be heard and hear the echoes reflect back to us. This was a powerful poem packed and packed...:)................
