sadness *trigger warning*

sadness *trigger warning*

A Poem by Kristen
"

do not read if you are easily triggered!

"
at one point
being alone was the most terrifying
thought in the
world.

but then I learned to embrace loneliness and sadness
like an old friend I hadn't seen in a while
but the thing is, they weren't old friends.
they were like a disease that
creeps up on you in the middle
of the night when you're laying
in bed, thinking...

   thinking...
thinking...
thinking about every possible thing that
went wrong in life and it starts to eat you alive
like a flesh eating virus

sadness consumes you
sadness will kill you
sadness
is
a
sickness

Many of us write from the dark dungeons of our minds. I am more uncontrolled mind maintained and not really deeply depressed, but I have traveled to the edge of that space and have seen the darkness. You want to run away, but you also want to embrace. I sit on the blades edge as I expect you do.

Work with it and you will have my controlled madness. A fun house unto itself. No, no triggers. Thanks for the warning and i very much enjoyed the ride. It was fun.

Great work and thank your for sharing.

oh my soul. This poem reminds me something that Ellen Hopkins would put into one of her books. Really nice job!

This is awesome... truthful and painful. I loved it... I have been there in that lonely place all too often. Love the way you wrote it... love the pain in the words. Awesome work :)

This is very well thought out. The way you spaced everything adds to the flow of the piece. The message is also intriguing and true. It's sad. It's depressing. It's true. Nothing wrong with speaking the cold hard truth. Not many people are brave enough to. Keep dreaming ^^

Well written. I agree, sadness is a sickness, but not one that can be cured with conventional medecine. Kindness and friendship would be my prescription.
