(37) Excuse Me, Sir

(37) Excuse Me, Sir

A Poem by Chris Smith Welshpoetcs

Excuse me, Sir;

Did you have to order
The most expensive food
That is on the menu.

When outside the window,
A hungry child looks in
Only dreaming of this.

You waste half the plate.
So it is thrown away,
But never a scrap for us.

Excuse me, Sir;

You buy for your own sake,
Not really needing it.
For it is left to be forgotten.

Never thinking what you could do,
Sparing for the needy with nothing.
One percent of your money is too much.

You do not believe in charity,
Millions wasted for your own good.
The rich always rob from the poor.

your poem speaks my own heart~ I am mortified by and astounded how one can justify spending 50 grand on a f***ing purse just cuz they can while down the street a child, a family, may be one breath away from being homeless~ really~ if us all would take that 1% and place it in the coffer of the HumanE~ what would it cost us~ nothing~ but permitting and worshipping the atrocious villany of mindless figures of media who toss away funds on bullsh*t without thought costs us not only critical thinking but our empathy as well~
bravo! ~ well written~ powerful presentation in its subtle impact~

Many good people in this world. They live their life to assist and take of people who need help. Also a lot of blind people. Live for selflessness and self gain. We are controlled by the rich. How can a poor man run for a office in this USA or anywhere? Take money and free time to run and win. The money comes from big business and lobbyist. A excellent poem. You made me think again.

the chilling reality and overall seriousness is profound. increasingly powerful with every short stanza coming to the cataclysmic end. the strength of the words in this piece is amazing. stanzas seem weak which provides a contrast between the stanza and the words which might be connected with the rich vs. poor. overall amazing write, it could use some punctuation though

this is so true..we have a world of two halves..I agree with Selene that it seems incredible that we can spend billions on weapons while people are starving...It' s Red Nose Day in the UK..a charity to help the needy of this world, if we realised that we are not separate from these souls and that we are a nation of one ..well you wouldn't have written your poem..well written and thought provoking read

And everything in this forsaken state of the world today comes down to greed and money, through that power! It is insulting to exist of late to be truthful, what so many people could do and they do not! Exellent work love! xx
