(59) Wild Horses

(59) Wild Horses

A Poem by Chris Smith Welshpoetcs
"

When we do anything for love.

"

I hear them running like thunder
Coming towards me like a hurricane
Nothing seems to stand in their way
You must never block their path
When the wild horses run

I would brave everything for you
Jump into the white swirling rapids
Swim across a sea of sharks as well
I would risk my life and limb
Just to hold you within my arms

I would cross the hottest desert
Fight the unstoppable army for you
Walk across the universe if I had to
I will know no fear when I have your love
I will lay down my life at your feet

So when I can hear the thunder
Coming at me like a hurricane
You know my love will find a way
To reach you I follow my path
Not even wild horses will stop me

This could be metaphorical or literal, and that fact leaves me wondering.. was he talking about horses? the last stanza teaches me that there may be something more. "You know my love will find a way/ To reach you I follow my path? Not even wild horses will stop me". This is marvelous and I'm very sorry it took me so long to get to this piece. I'll be getting to more on my own time, but I'll try.

This reminds me of The Doors "Horse Latitudes," or even the horse latitudes themselves. A lot more optimistic, of course. Love it.
