Two knitted hats

Two knitted hats

A Poem by Joy C
"

dedicated to my mom~ I really appreciate all the time, love, and other sacrifices you have devoted to me.

"

My mom, knitting in the corner
Knits away the endless time in Canada
The day stretch out blankly before her
Knitting, occupies her hands

My mom, knitting in the corner
On her head, there is a knitted hat
Covering up her boldness
Knitting, banishes her pain

My mom, knitting in the corner
Hears the ringing of the phone
The once respectful teacher of an elementary school
Flinches.
The conversation is incomprehensible to her
Knitting, engulfs her with blessed emptiness

My mom, knitting in the corner,
Swallows back tears of homesickness
Her job of thirty years,
Our house, her “real” home
Gone, all gone
Knitting, grants her a brief relief from memories

My mom, knitting in the corner, always
With one in her hands
Another on her head
Always, always
Then, she unravels.

A write filled with beauty and grace. It is ratiating an immense warmth and love.

To begin every stanza with the same line makes it the more impressive!

Very good job where one can feel the love through your words ...
