Speak Out

Speak Out

A Poem by Joy C
"

This is fictional. I repeat, completely fictional.

"

Something missing,
Injured,
Polluted

Clogged her throat

Burying her under
Layers and layers
Of silence

Hard to face
That night
That guy
That pressure
Bearing down on her
Sucked out her breath

She was a puzzle
Being broke into thousand of pieces
And put back differently
With a huge chunk taken away

Confused,
She had lost herself
Sinking down into a
Dead- end stone pit

Speak out,
Or Not

For those who are wondering, it is about rape. I had just read a book in which the heroine had been raped, and it sort of inspired me.

Very strong piece. Few words - big impact!

I love these passages immensely:

She was a puzzle
Being broke into thousand of pieces
And put back differently

Confused,
She had lost herself

Powerful work!
