Writing for the Sake of Writing

Writing for the Sake of Writing

A Poem by Joy C
"

I am just foreseeing how I'll feel about writing once I start to depend on it for a living. It's not like I don't want to be a writer. Becoming a writer has been my dream since forever! It's just that I am consoling myself if I fail to fulfil my dream.

"

Since when,
The pleasure slowly sips,
Away,
Through the pencil,
Paper, pattering patience

Another boring daily routine

Once dreams are stained with
The lowly pressure of earning money
Its shine dimmed

Carefree smiles,
Simple wonders at everything we see
All gone, “poof”
Like the once magnificent
Sand- castles being lured back
To the sea,
Slowly, but determinedly

Our joys are not pure,
Anymore

Author's Note

"Pattering patience" is sort of meaningless. I don't even know what it means.... It just poped into my head and it has a nice ring to it. Well, if it really doesn't have a meaning, please let me know.

I rather like it.

And, though I hate to say it, it's probably pretty accurate.
