Gambling for the Truth

Gambling for the Truth

A Story by MoonShine
"

Just a thought. If you were the child, what would you do?

"

There is a naked child, who sits in a room filled with bags.
He has absolutely nothing. He is cold and alone. Thirsty and hungry.
He is in a room filled with bags.
The rule of this room was that he may choose only one bag.
And out of the myriad amount of bags.... only one bag has content.
All the other bags are empty and hollow, looking deceptive.
All the bags look the same.... And the child can only choose one bag before time ran out.
He was born in this room surrounded only by a few bags at first.
But as he grew older the bags only increased.
There was only one rule... He may only choose one bag.
He had all the time his life could spare.

Would you take a shot and reach for the bags?
Would you hesitate, too afraid to be disappointed?
Or would you just sit there and stare as the bags increase?

Each bag represents the absolute truth in this world.
Something that isn't relative.
Do you gamble for the truth? Do you roll the dice?
Or do you just call it quits, and not even bother to try?
Are you the person that says life is just pointless?
Or are you that person who just shrugs and says "I don't care?"

Does a god exist?
Does a soul exist?
Does the truth really exist?
Or is it an illusion we chase after?

Do you gamble for the truth?
It's winner take all.
Meaning if you don't play...
You lose everything.

So who are you?
Or what would you do?
The child, like us, have nothing that can prove the truth.
We have dice called faith.
Would you roll it?
Or would you just stare at them?

Wouldn't it be illogical.... to just stare at the dice?
