Pain of Mine

Pain of Mine

A Poem by Christopher 'Windstorm' Kells

Pain of Mine

By Windstorm Kells©2001

The pain, the agonizing pain

Nerves pinched to a point of strain

As if jumping into an ice cold stream

Muscles react as if a terrifying dream

Neck won’t move and neither will my head

For I must have moved wrong while sitting on my bed

The unlikeable pain is a crushing pit

Not wanting to move, not even a sorrowful fit

Seems my shoulder and neck are in a fight

My senses are the losing battlefield of firelight

Wishing and spells to help it go away for tomorrow

For the game I must be straight as an arrow

I will show all how good I am

Throwing with winged speed and hitting with a wham

You, pain of mine, please go away

For I need you not this day

I feel gnawing discomfort

My body aches you know the sort

So take your leave from me

Be gone and let me be free
