The Wheel

By Windstorm Kells ©1999

Dancing around the candle flame

With in hand the staff and athame

Whilst in the storms of spring rain

In the merry month of May

As everything begins anew

Most don’t have a clue

But the witch sees everything bloom

As the birds and flowers comeback

The witch has a special nack

This is to attune oneself

With the world as it grows

Dancing around the bonfire at noon

Singing, dancing sometime in the middle of June

For midsummer it be

A time for fun, games and merry making

The days are long and hot

The nights are short and warm

But Gaia knows it won’t last long

Because winter will be returning soon

Dancing around the apple tree

Without worry, foot lose fancy free

The harvest comes, leaves begin to fall

Leaves color with mothers whisper

The witch feels natures sigh

The year crumbles to another

Like a bee who has used his stinger

On the enemy or invading stranger

The time falls of the clocks face

The year begins anew

The veil betwixt worlds is the thinnest

On the night living

Celebrate the deceased

Dancing around the pagan tree

Decorating, being as a busy bee

Singing, dancing, total bliss

Laughing, joking, maybe a bit wacky

A time for

                Feasting

                                Meeting

                           Togetherness

A time for love and peacefulness

All eating, drinking to their fill

Yule comes but once a year

So show some cheer

Light the bonfires early morning

To bless and warmly greet the coming of spring

The day’s warm, while snow melts

We continue the traditions of the Celts

As the wheel turns ever on

We age, grow wiser

We laugh, we cry

The wheel continues on

Never slowing or stopping to give us a re-try

Blessed Be!
