Today's Tomorrow

Today's Tomorrow

A Poem by K. N. Graf

They keep walking ahead
And just don’t notice
The expression on my face
Or the thoughts in my head
Because they’re caught up
In their own little worlds
But that’s okay for now
Everyone has other things to worry about
And don’t always have time
To keep looking behind them
So why do I feel left out,
Excluded from their lives?
Are we starting to grow apart
And move on to more important places?
They could at least tell me
Let me know what’s going on
We used to be extremely close
Maybe someday very soon
We’ll be able to laugh and talk
About all our former troubles
And know we’ll always be friends
Because today was the tomorrow
We worried about yesterday.
