Burning Fire

Burning Fire

A Poem by Rayne Stanton
"

Take control of your life.

"
as creepers creep and spiders crawl
the shadows stay by your side,
they see your light and drink it in
leaving you empty inside.

the intoxication fills you up
and clouds fog up your sun,
though rays of light may pass on through
the shadows keep you on the run.

you become dependent and drink them back
fake love, lust, and desire.
don't fall too fast or you'll be consumed
by the shadows burning fire.

keep up the pace and don't look back
they'll drag you by your feet
to meet fake fate, their lust and hate
to try to keep you in your seat.

past the finish line you breath relief
safe now for just a while
just don't go back again to be consumed
by the shadows burning fire.

How true to 'my life' is this poem. Looking back on it this poem is almost a reflection.

I think this was an awesome idea for a poem. It was very visually stimulating. Downside: I found it to lack a steady flow. Also, I believe that "past the finish line you breath relief" was meant to be "past the finish line you breathe relief". Definitely worth a read. Keep it up :)
