I DID

I DID

A Poem by XO Vee

Once I looked into your eyes
I knew what would come of
Us, at least I thought I did
Until I messed up or so I thought
I did, You told me it was my
Fault, you told me I was wrong
And I believed you, I thought
it was me, I burned dinner
I fell asleep before you came
home, I allowed my friends to
talk bad about you, I gave you
an attitude, I rolled my eyes
I talked back, I shed a tear in
front of company, I ripped the
dress, and I did it on purpose
I thought it was my fault, and
I searched for ways to make it
better, and found the perfect
Way, It wasn't me it was you!

You only saw the bad never
the why, why was dinner
over cooked, why I fell
asleep, why my friends
talked bad about you,
why i gave you an attitude
why i rolled my eyes, talked
back, shed that tear in front
of company, ripped that dress

I don't owe you anything but
i want it for myself, so i'll
fill you in, dinner was over
cooked because your side piece
called, told me what you were
doing at those late meetings
i fell asleep after you called
me on our anniversary to tell
me you caught a late flight
you'd be back in a week,
i love you too! my friends
talked bad because they only
saw bad, you never gave them
a good thing to go by. i gave
you an attitude because i
wanted out but also i
wanted your attention
i rolled my eyes hoping you'd
see, hoping you'd yell at me
because again the stupid part
of me still wanted you to pay
attention, talked back to make
conversation, shed that tear in
front of company because she
was sitting at the table looking
at me judging, judging me like
i meant nothing like a peasant
asked to join a high class dinner
not a wife with her husband

Oh yeah and that dress
I was wrong
I did rip that dress
I ripped it
I did
To signify
To show you
To demonstrate
How a boss leaves a man
That I once thought was a man
and now i only see a pig
I see trash!

This carries a strong message of hope. There's a certain amount of power that comes with letting go of the thing or person that hurts you, even if it's uncertain. It can be scary to let that thing go when it's "comfortable" or after you've put so much work into making it better. I'm glad the dinner was burnt. I'm glad the dress is ruined! I'm glad your stupid dinner friends don't like me! And I'm glad you're gone!!! As you can see, I've now become the narrator... Good job! :)

Strong message expressing wounded feelings. Yeah, this is how a female feels and reacts at pain and injustice. Very well written . I can understand that very well.
The last three verses said it all
