You Made It Through The Day

You Made It Through The Day

A Poem by Alias

Sometimes I forget
Just getting out of bed
The little victories
I overcame the dread.
Sometimes I forget
That today I did do well
I had something to eat
The heartache I did quell
Sometimes I remember
When my heart feels grey
That I should be proud
I made it through the day.

Wow. I feel this on a whole new level.
Sometimes even the tiniest things should be celebrated. Getting out of bed, eating something, laughing. They seem minimal to others, but they are important to us.
Thank you for writing this and sharing it. I think I stand for a lot of people when I say that this is what we needed. Look at all these people you have impacted. So many loved your words.
Be proud of yourself.
Be proud of making it through the day.
I hope things get easier. I love your writing.

You mentioned this wasn't meant to be a "masterpiece." However, I really loved it because I am one of those "other people." When you suffer with severe depression and anxiety, just making it through the day is a huge accomplishment. Great, simplistic write! Love it!!

A bravely written poem showing the courage to rise and get through the day.

Sometimes I remember
When my heart feels grey
That I should be proud
I made it through the day

and you made the day bright for others too. Thank you so much!
