The Price to Pay

The Price to Pay

A Poem by Melissa Rose
"

Now is the time appreciate what we are given.

"

What is your life worth to you,

can I put the gun to your head?

What will you give for a chance?

What do you live for?

Can I take your cars, your home,

your clothes, your money?

Will you opt to endure?

I can pull the trigger for you,

is it not worth living?

Will you want a showy funeral

to ensure we never forget

how much you once had?

I’ll shovel the dirt myself,

each pile I throw lands with contempt.

You never saw.

They were enough.

You had them all along,

and you never knew.

Are you watching them cry,

more ashamed to have loved you

than dismayed to have lost you.

Do you see what you gave?
You try to say you were robbed of life,

you never knew the value of that privilege.

This is such beautiful poetry. Written here is a poem by Melissa Rose that spares no comfort zone. This write points out culture's dissolute influence on man's sinful nature. It's one of the few times when being scolded so harshly was such an endearing endeavor to endure.

Very powerful and direct. You don't have to use a lot of words to get your point across and I love that. Awesome write.

I thought this was beautiful, it showed emotion, but at the same time really makes people think about their lives, or at least me of mine. It was really good though and i very much enjoyed it.
