I Wait

I Wait

A Poem by caitlin

I’m waiting,
My love,
Waiting for you to return to me.
You’ve been gone for so long,
Gone to fight a battle
That no other man could win,
Gone to fight in a war
To protect our beautiful empire.
I wait here,
In the very place I was
When you rode away on your horse.
I watch,
And I wait,
Hoping that you have won the war,
Hoping that you will return to me
In living form
So we may once again
Consummate our undying love.
