Shattered Starlight

Shattered Starlight

A Poem by Michael Handel

This shattering shiver, September's itch

opaque in moonlight, her lover's kiss

his shattered shyness, month of nowhere

this blackened heart, it glows in starlight

the creeping midnight, crawling Autumn

rage like ancients, Furies calling

on fractured Earth, at Tuesday's dying

our lips exploding, tongues fell silent

the stars went flying, clocks were broken

Moon was missing, we were chosen

his hand was taken, hers were open

into her heart, his heart was going

their shattered distance, on oceans open

fragments, pieces, oneness, closing

his lover's kiss, opaque in moonlight

in glowing starlight, September's Autumn

buhhhdy. i seriously want to stick my fingers in your brain and then just like... lick them or something in hopes that ingesting mike brain juice will somehow make me as awesome. but i won't because i like talking to you too much. and you need your brain for stuff, at least that's what they say.

i was going to be all 'oh, i loved this line _______________' but then i realized i couldn't have one line without the next. it was like a precarious, beautiful house of cards... or shiz...

anywho. kat stamp, you know it.

this is absolutely beautiful. it creates such gorgeous imagery and the rhythm slips off the tongue kinda like melted ice cream. actually, that sounds kinda gross. slips off the tongue like... moonlight. that seems more apt, but totally misses the point of the poem. ahh well, we'll leave similes for another day, eh?
i love the way each line finishes the line after (if you get what i mean...)
nice one, anyway.
