Truths, Fears, Hopes and Lies

Truths, Fears, Hopes and Lies

A Poem by yieldblue
"

Yet another I wrote awhile ago.

"
That beautiful face haunts my ever waking dreams

Like a whisper dancing in the wind
hinting at the truths
                   and fears
                         and hopes
                               and lies
                                      kept deep and dark inside

The truth shinning so bright that it’s hard to hide
this grand facade
this elaborate disguise

Fears of failure fueling fears
that one day, someday I’ll have to realize
            I’ll wake up
                look in the mirror
and be staring at my father’s blue eyes

F**k my hopes of lasting love
                         of brilliant blue skies
bring on the dark rolling clouds
the rain of reigning cries

I’m sick of lying to myself
of laying in a bed of lies
or is it that I’m just tired of believing them

So here I am
in a nice little bottle of cliche I call my own
reminiscent of my truths
                         my fears
                              my hopes
                                   my lies
now thrown inside this prison
                               this prison…
           …my mind

And yet that beautiful face still haunts me
from my ever waking dreams
