What People See

What I think people think of me

When people look at me

They see someone who doesn't care

They see someone who doesn't show emotion

Someone who is cold and heartless

Someone to fear

Someone who is alone

But really I'm not

I'm not a stone

I do care

And I have a heart

But my heart is full of pain

The scars from long ago still ache

With each step I take

I'm someone who is broken

this is fabulous! i love this poem! it just really shows the truth about how we are on the inside and how cruel people can be when they judge without getting to know us. it happens everyday and all too often. i certainly know the feeling. your not alone.

I liked this poem alot! It reminds me of what I wrote sometimes last month (Mask). You should read it I think you could relate!
I think alot of teenagers go through life not showing feelings. Nothing can break them into a smile. Or nothing can make them cry. Nothin can seem to touch thtem. Just sort of a hard mask that no emotion ever shows. I know I do that alot. I guess I feel protected.
But underneath all that tough stuff there is a caring somebody! People though don't see and just hurt you. They think you don't feel or something and it hurts. So really take off your mask! Enjoy life.
