In Dreams

In Dreams

A Poem by Young Left Hand

when you know you’re not invincible
yet you are not scared of death

where the focus of your passion
is set to music by your breathe

where the enemy is relentless
and the innocent are not spared

where the snipers are all around you
but once more you are not scared.

A dream so important
that to wake would mean great loss

instinctively you resist it
as you turn and twist and toss

In dreams you do not think about hunger
or what you lack

In dreams you touch the hurting
and you toss them across your back

In Dreams you never tire

In Dreams you never break

In dreams you only perish

when at last in morn you wake.
