Love Is Just A Game

Love Is Just A Game

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay

Love lasts,
does it?

Cheat on,
would you still?

Betray trusts,
won't you?

Leave 'em alone
those who love you,
wouldn't you?

This is how it works,
doesn't it?

Those who love
should be taught this lesson,
will you?

'Cause love
is just a game
we play
to quench
our insatiable thirsts,
don't we?

only those will suffer in love, who takes it through their soul, place someone at the peak of their life and sacrifice and feel silently and unconditionally.otherwise player will always plan and throw a meaningful smile that haunts you rest of your life for your true dedication.
a beautiful poem

Yeah (sigh).. The tragedies of life...
I enjoyed reading this poem. I like how you ask questions about love using so few words.
Good luck for the future.

I loved the way you tagged each of your stanzas.
Very well crafted, covering all the painful aspects of love.
You started this write with a question and confirmed step by step how love can't last when it is played like a game...
Very well done! Keep sharing more.

very well...
love's certainly nothing... more than... but a game that we play around either faithfully or without much devotions. sometimes, we loose control on our heart, & get ourself lost in such "insatiable" vibes just to feed inner hunger. and here i admire your give lines on it:

love
Is just a game
We play
To quench
Our insatiable thirsts

very visualized. depicted, & intellectual choice of words you've come up with. you've nice POVs on love-edge. nicely penned.

Yes, love is a fickle and oft times brutal game. Nicely penned!

Yes indeed! Still we are fool enough to believe in it. Thank you for the kind review ☺
Sadly, your last verse rings true to these cynical ears. Life mirrors fairy tales, we see the polished Disney products and dream, while forgetting the Grimm truth behind the original tales told. I don't remember Disney covering the part where the ugly sisters cut off their toes in an attempt to make the shoe fit, but it has similar sounds to our version of reality that we see any time we watch a reality show, hungry for fame without the effort of talent and commitment. Great write.

That is an excellent point you raised here. The thing is its too easy to think in terms of fantasies.. read more

I think we do! Our thirst is indeed insatiable.

This is a clever poem that hits the spot and makes its point with unflinching accuracy.
