Brothel Housekeeper

Brothel Housekeeper

A Poem by Zach Knox

In the corral

I auctioned pieces

of myself

to the highest sinner

bidding on my self loathing

I was fenced off

each landmark a boundary

to a tract of land

my longing for solitude

you wouldn't understand

I stand in the middle

of the crowd

but sink in the sand

not another stick in

the mud

I well,

loved by everyone

but yet loved

by too many

to be loved by one

My loneliness

will suffice

served on ice

it burns but warms nice

The emotions that

made up this quilted

Frankenstein

I swept under the rug

forgotten,

but the scent

it's endurance withstood

all the fragrance

I spray on me

I dragged to my knees

must now plead

someone will come to me

someone will be with me

to simply grasp my hand

pull me upon my feet

bring me back down from

my cloud

to teach me how again

pledge to fidelity's

only lover , only friend.

I have felt the pleading in a sorrowful tone and the asking for help to show the way...A powerful poem...:)....

Poetry is my way to cope with the world. I used to write in high school a lot as I was struggling with eating disorder and other mental problems plaguing me. I don't know if it was out of exhaustion.. more..
