A Taste Of Fire

A Taste Of Fire

A Poem by Zach Lape

As the flames danced in the night, I could not help as mind was set adrift; back to a night much alike, yet so different. Farther back I fell in thought as I looked to the sky; the recollection of your eyes, twinkling as they do, only the more lovely than any one of them could dream.

Solace I did find,
In those twinkling eyes,
from a loving gaze,
to my true surprise,
for no one had looked at me so lovingly before,
And from that moment on, it was you I adored.

Staring back into the flames all that could be brought to mind was our love. Although much a cliche, our burning passion between us.

The fire as our hearts, dancing and jumping,
with each kiss, each touch, evermore thumping,
our desire for each other ablaze within,
it wouldn't be long, we would both give in.

And so it progressed as our love grew. Each passing day far stronger, deeper, inescapably intimate. For tis now I love you more than I had ever considered possible;and know it only will become greater.

Our eyes would meet and so it begins,
as if staring into each others souls,
soon we are to be entangled in skin,
our embrace to make us both whole;

Your seductive lips call my attention,
and soon I lean in for a taste,
our kiss with love laced with aggression,
we let not a moment go to waste,
our night goes on in pure ecstasy,
not one thing could go amiss,
with nothing but skin, pure intimacy,
every touch, every move, every kiss.

My dear, I love your more than you can imagine, with every fiber of my being. I wouldn't change a day that's gone by, for I cherish each moment. These poems prove inadequate for what there meant to say. But I hope my love you'll love them anyway.
