Lovely senryu! It irks me when people call pieces such as these a haiku. Haikus relate strictly to nature; a senryu, human nature and events. This is a great SENRYU. Anyway, it seems pieces about current events are few and far inbetween. Thank you for sharing.

I took a very extensive study on haiku/senryu/5-7-5. A haiku, traditionally anyways, is strictly related to nature. Senryu is human natures and events. 5-7-5 is everything in between.

It is amazing how we can organize a giant sporting event and can't get along in real life. I wish the leader of the Olympics could be the men and woman who organize a world of peace. I like the Olympics. The world seem to be more relax and thinking of the games. Thank you for the outstanding poem.

I can't get too worked up about the Olympics, then I never have. They just don't really interest me. But this is a lovely Senryu. You have gone with 5/8/5 in this. I would say that you could cut it down in syllables but I'm not sure how. Nice alliteration in the third line as well.
