we don’t love as we think we would.

we don’t love as we think we would.

A Poem by Zelda Gin

we don’t love

as we think

we would

we do what we think we should

and walk out on

we swallow distress alone

conversations

of shaking mind

stuck in our heads

neither can we create

storms or dinosaurs

we just simply ignore

holding hands and starting to rush

words turn to dust

in the monsoon

we can merely draw in ruin

our odours before they fade

and we are lying in wait

coming sorrow, embrace no shade

of lonesome transparent dreams

wittering in a curt stream

romance’s dimmed in mouldiness

one day, over our heads

we inhale lucid sky

soundlessly sigh

we don’t love

as we think

we would.

Simply brilliant. Great diction and flow help to make this an excellent poem.
