Severing A Haunted Psyche

Severing A Haunted Psyche

A Poem by Hello, Goodbye
"

..cerebral disturbances..

"
I don't yearn for riches
Nor immortality
I don't want fame
Nor reasons for vanity

The only thing I wish for
Is an act of impossibility
To place my mind in surgery
And dissect away...
The regretful memories

A interesting poem that comes alive in the second part. With feelings that many can relate too in wanting to rid ourselves of the ghosts of our memories. It works how it is and it makes the reader think a lot despite being so short that said I felt it needed something more. The title and the second stanza appeal to me in a deeply thought provoking way.

We all have painful memories we wish to erase. If only this were possible. If only we could sift through and choose what we want to rremember. Why do traumatizing experiences echo so deeply in our minds...
