My name is Shreyas Gokhale. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Physics at the Indian Institute of Science. However, Poetry is my first love. I have been deeply inspired by the English poets of the late 18th and early 19th century, particularly William Wordsworth, John Keats and Thomas Gray. I mostly write structured verse, though I have experimented with free verse at times.

What I discovered on the cafe, is how pleasurable it can be to review other people's work. I believe in giving serious reviews and that involves making a genuine effort to understand the poem in depth and analyzing it in some detail. Because of this attitude, it takes me a relatively long time to review a poem and consequently, in the limited time that I spend on the cafe, I cannot review too many.

I am here to write, read, review and discuss poetry. I am firmly of the opinion that Writers Cafe has a purpose very different from Facebook and other social networking websites. So please do not send me a Friend Request without first going through my writings. I have made several worthy friends through this website, but such friendships have always developed through an appreciation of each other's art, and I intend to keep it that way.
