"Such Eyes..." Poem

A Poem by Chris

Its never just - children
nor teens

Its not about ourselves - never ourselves... our selves

Its always just:

"Once upon a time," ~ words to so softly begin a legend... a moment... an entire life's-time.  My words, her/his - silence...

My existence,
her/his - "Oh, hi - don't I know you from somewhere?  Well maybe not, nevermind..."

My total focus and intent,
her/our - "...and (s)he GAVE me a POEM!!??!!  Can you believe that???  (S)He just came up and gave ME a..." and all the laughter echoed and echoed...

"Such Eyes..."

Such eyes...
mirror so many worlds

within and without

Such eyes...
search and seek
draw and hold

Such eyes...
fill me with wonder
and soft smiles

Such eyes...
can make me cry

and yet still hope...

and yet Such eyes...
don't even know
I exist.

but for once -

just for once...

"Such eyes..."
looked so gently in mine
as she touched my hand...

"Such Eyes..."
Chris,
Truly, the eyes tell it all. Such poetic loveliness caressed within this tale of inner realization:
"such eyes search and seek
draw and hold
fill me with wonder
and soft smiles."
The thing is your experience is all about interpretation. It is a quality which challenges my abilities, and oh I need that!
Now the ending..........."
but for once
just for once
"Such eyes"
looked so gently in mine
as she touched my hand...
The feeling and experience is elongated and kept alive. Poetry structure and font- and, and, and.
Beautiful!
See you next time.

such eyes...
just two words say so much...I'm infatuated with someone's eyes at the moment...and trust me...it's obsessive...
this took me back to them...thank you :-)

this is just the sort of poem that touches a place in our hearts, and makes us wish that maybe words like these might be written with ourself in mind

I'm fairly certain that every one that came and read before felt just the same way

You have that beat style I guess, even though I've never read any beat poetry. This is a deep, stirring work, even dark in some spots. Thoroughly brilliant.

ah, such eyes. i love how eyes are so revealing. one glance and so much is revealed. A pond of emotions and life. Great expression in this poem. Unique writing style. Like storytelling almost. thank you.
