Stuck

Stuck

A Poem by Bhumika Devkota

Trapped within four walls with no plan for escape,

Always alone because one is drunk and the other is dead.

Hiding behind a closed door, afraid of oneself,

Already grasping the maturity and knowing that no one would stay.

With only an estranged brother and a little sister,

A house of broken hopes

Stays in the corner of the oldest street,

And sadly, that’s how it remains.
