Jealous Moon

The moon was full that night,
shining down on us
reflecting like jewels in our sweat

cool grass crushed under hot skin
your body against mine
that moon looking down-

I wonder, was it jealous?
I wonder how we must have looked?
we outshined that jealous moon

Now, it is I who am jealous
for that moon shines on
and our love-
our bright,shining love
has burned out.
