A prayer

A prayer

Just words.

A prayer

Please lord of life and death.

We need the gentle caress of hope and kindness.

My world had turn dark with violence and hate.

Good people were took from us and leaving us with sadness and regret.

Complete world need to learn.

We must stand for peace and non-violence.

Many tears and heartaches today dear lord.

Teach the leaders. This is one earth and one people.

A woman in Korea or a woman in England.  Are life baring and blessed women needed.

A child in Iraq or a child in Canada are lights of hope. Our future.

Please lord of life and death.

Many of us are confused.

Please send wisdom to our leader. Teach them to know peace, not war only.

Today I pray for the people of my world.

We may be different, far apart and believe in different Gods.

But we love our children and we don’t want our children to die in wars.

That no-one shall win.

Make this world stop. All people to stand as one.

Make the leaders lead with concern, kindness and love.

We don’t need walls of separation.

We need to grasp the hand of a stranger.

Tell them. You are loved and needed.

Please lord of life and death.

Stop the madness.

Allow the children to be children. Allow our children to become adults who don’t fight in wars.

Make the world power quit sending weapons of death to countries in chaos.

Send water, food and medicine. Kindness take down years of hate and separation.

A poem full of aching compassion and tears. I feel your utter sorrow and I weep with you for all the sadness in the world. Our children go on dying, our leaders go on shedding more blood. And its tragic for we are all the same flesh under different skin. Your words evoke such feelings of regret and loss here.

Very true, we don't need a world wearing clothes of blood but of peace and kindness. If you pray this then please pray from my side too. Really appreciated your work, touched my heart. Thank you John for sharing such thoughts.

I agree my friend.
This was so beautiful and poignant! Wars never end in victory, both sides suffer their own losses.
Only through peace and dialogue can we emerge victorious
Great writing!

Thank you Lola. I appreciate the comment.
Indeed the aspiration of the majority reflected in this piece Coyote. Unfortunately tis the greedy, psychopathic minority who rule the earth. We need to unite in strength against the fear and hate they spread through corrupt media. But George Orwell may be right in that there is no such thing as equality or fairness for man on the earth. Perhaps this is the punishment metered out to Adam and Eve. But they are fiction!

A heartfelt and inspiring prayer that is much needed in our world where we can humble ourselves and do God's will. We must stand for all those things you say from the deep heart and wish all the good will on others. God bless. Thank you for sharing this great one.

Amen one million times to your inspired, heart-felt prayer Dear Coyote. Reading it gave me chills and tears...Your every humble and beautiful word pleading with God to save us, our children and the world. St. Francis prayer perfect. This is my favorite poem of yours and I have saved it to read over and over. May God hear you and bless you always. Transcendent.
