The Road To Hell

The Road To Hell

A Poem by Lyingwithlions
"

Inspired by the attached photo, and the raging fires so close to home. Nothing but adermiration and respect to the fire fighters!

"
The road to Hell burns with fire
Roaring winds sound like a choir of liars to our ears

Fear and loathing melts away all that stands in its path
 Approaching ever So fast
as evil gains momentum
righteousness a fleeing moment of the past

How much longer will we run from sin?
Before we stop to fight the beast
not with guns, but our pin!

As the raging flames reach higher
chances of survival become hopeless and direr
As the smoke fills our lungs and begins to choke us

Take a stand. Fight fire with fire
Face the fear before our eyes
looking inward to the depths of our soul,
 and light her

So we may all see and remember
we were created from something much higher

From the sky we fell like rain
To the ground where our spirits stayed
 There is no power greater
 than the storms
which spring from our pain

When the battle is over,
We will find on what once was that road to Hell
Among the charred ashes and remains

The open gates to Heaven did so prevail

Your words true and powerful.
When the battle is over,
"We will find on what once was the road to Hell.
Among the charred ashes and remains.
The open gates to Heaven did so prevail."
We must fought to hold on to human kindness and hope for a good ending. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Thank you!
I love this, it is what every day is made of, fighting the evil that lives within us. Great poem! I love the last line. Leaves an open door for hope.
