Your Beautiful Asylum

A Poem by Colton Warr

I swear I am not crazy, I swear I am not crazy

I promise you I am not

You are my daisy, my beautiful daisy

I promise you I am caught

I think I am not crazy, I think I am not crazy

I swear I am still sane

You are my clear sunny day, this vision is never hazy

I promise you are in all my veins

I am not crazy, I am not crazy

My mind is still right

You bring me so to life, for you, I am never lazy

I promise you are all of my sight

I may be crazy, I may be crazy

What have you done to me?

You have taken my heart, you are truly amazing

I promise, in you I believe

I am crazy, I am crazy

I am crazy about you

You are my angel, you are my hero, please come save me

Should I tell you I’m in love? I think I ought to

I am insane, I am insane

Lock me away in an asylum

This is no gimmick, this is no game

Do it, I warn you, or I’ll love you as long as there is a sun.

I am yours, I am yours

This is the most beautiful form of crazy

You are my sun, you are my earth

So can I ask, about me, are you crazy?

Lock the key away, Lock the key away

Don’t ever think about retrieving it

I don’t want my heart back, I don’t want my soul back

How do you feel about receiving it?

You drive me crazy, you drive me insane

I swear, I need a strait jacket

Am I living inside of a dream? Please, someone tap me

I am close to love, falling, you saw my heart and attacked it

With each passing day and each passing night

I want everything that is you

I know it’s right, O, it feels so right

I guess I just wanted to say, I am crazy about you.

I can’t get enough, I can’t get enough

Should I stay or should I run?

I am staying, no matter how calm or how rough

Lock the door on your way out, I don’t ever want to leave Your Beautiful Asylum.

'Your Beautiful Asylum
colton Warr,
The title was a hint into the meaning behind above poem. You admit that the total infatuation with your subject is a driving force. This 'love' is a compelling and soul emptying experience. I must admit that being wrapped in the cords which bring a person to a type of bondage which prevents rational thinking is what happens when someone sets affection on another human being. It was a fun and crazy look with a different spin of emotion. Great job!

kathy

I was crazy, for I did not read this poem earlier. You did it again my friend, another master piece who shall be shelled in my library. This poem reads so nice and sweet, it feels like I am having a cup of tea with an angel while floating on clouds, drifting peacefully till the end of your poem is reached. Love is a burden that you have chosen to carry, some might throw this burden away for the weight has overwhelmed them and the strength in their heart is lost but you and me are one of the people who 'love' to carry this 'lovely' burden called 'love'. My last three poems are about the struggles of carrying a burden in my heart and the darkness but also the light that a burden of such weight emits in our minds and hearts. Promise me to keep writing, till the end of time takes one of the best writers this world has ever know away and carry him to the heavens, where he shall continue to write and maybe we will also meet each other in the afterlife.

Good job :D

I did like the ending. We become stronger when we survive the good and the bad days. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

A powerful poem and you are welcome.
I like how as the poem goes on the narrator goes even more insane for the one they love. It was brilliant how you gave being locked in a beautiful asylum as reference to being in love. It shows how being in love can make you insane for that person.

It's different, which I really like. I like the idea of love is "crazy." It's light but dark, a romance yet twisted. This style works really well.
