I am a mother

One love in the world that is beyond any other is a mothers love. The connection between these two.. The magic of carrying life.

Seems like a dream, too good to be true.
An innocent soul with devine blessings,
Given to me, yes, a gift of life.
My own? My very own??
A dream it feels like, that will prove to be true
Yet so real already.
Am with child, a son that i find pride in
God blessed my womb, turned night to day
He gave me a precious soul under my care,
I am a mother!

I have my final words for what has to be done
For once everyone trusts my intentions to be good
You are mine and it is such devine!
You have the features of one my heart so loves
And you also have me!
You show the beauty love can create.
Its far from ordinary
I am blessed with a unique amazing child
You have made me, a mother.

Sometimes I don't think it's a good idea to use an exclamation point (!) often . . . but for this message, it feels right, becuz your enthusiasm is palpable. I'm 62, haven't been able to have kids, so I'm always fascinated by messages that are very realistic like this, showing how it feels to become a mom. It's as if your poem gives me the gift of being able to be in this situation for a little bit. The most realistic aspect is the way uncertainty runs between the lines of excitement. Bertha - this is so beautifully beautiful. Mothers are sooooo special - I see it everyday in my wife, the mother of our two girls. Dads are great, but mothers go far above and beyond what ordinary humans provide. Just today I got a call from our oldest, once again telling me to thank her mother for all she taught her. If what you say is true, I wish the very best for you and your child.
